🎬 What is Falcon Player?

A free, browser-based video player purpose-built for XbotGo Falcon AI camera footage. Open your game recordings directly — no upload, no account, no install.

The Falcon camera captures wide-angle footage of the entire field. Falcon Player lets you zoom into any region of the frame in real time, so you can focus on specific plays, players, or areas of the field without re-encoding the video.

Your footage stays private

All processing happens locally in your browser. Your video files never leave your device.

Key Features

  • Region zoom up to 8× with Ctrl+scroll or trackpad pinch
  • Smooth mouse-driven pan while zoomed
  • Highlight marker navigation (from .mark files)
  • Orange tick marks on the timeline at each highlight
  • Marker editing — add your own markers (goals, key plays, generic) directly in the browser; saved as a .mark.fp file alongside the video
  • Per-type marker visibility — show or hide camera markers, home goals, and away goals independently via the timeline layers menu
  • A-B loop — set a segment to repeat, or let marker navigation set it automatically
  • Photo gallery — session photos shown on the timeline and viewable in a lightbox
  • Sport detection — automatically identifies sport and configuration from recording metadata
  • Gallery filter by sport when multiple sports are present
  • View lock beta — stabilizes the zoomed view against camera auto-pan so you can follow a player while the camera tracks elsewhere
  • Screenshot and clip recording — save plays directly from the browser
  • Variable playback speed (0.25× slow-motion to 8× fast-forward)
  • Full keyboard control for efficient film review
  • Works with just the MP4 — metadata files optional
  • No install, no account — open in any modern browser

📋 How to Use

What you need

Your Falcon MP4 file, and optionally the .mark, .vdata, and .cover files from the .data folder alongside the video.

  1. 1Launch the player using the button above
  2. 2Drop your footage — drag the video folder onto the player, or use Select Folder to browse. Works at any level: single recording, date folder, or SD card root
  3. 3Select your recording from the gallery if multiple recordings are found
  4. 4Zoom into a play — Ctrl+scroll or pinch to zoom into any region of the frame
  5. 5Navigate highlights — jump between marker timestamps with the marker buttons or keyboard
  6. 6Adjust the marker offset in Settings (⚙) to control how far before each marker you land
  7. 7Export clips or screenshots — save the current zoomed view as a JPEG, or record a video clip directly from the browser

🏆 For Coaches & Teams

The Falcon camera pans to follow the action, but the footage can still be too wide to clearly see specific plays. Falcon Player's region zoom lets you get closer to the action and isolate specific matchups, off-ball movement, or defensive positioning — frame by frame if needed.

The View Lock feature beta addresses a common frustration: when you zoom in and pan to follow a specific player, the camera's own auto-pan fights your view — causing choppiness when both motions oppose each other. View Lock reads the camera's pan telemetry from the recording's metadata and applies a real-time counter-offset, keeping your zoomed region stable relative to the field while the camera moves freely. Press V to activate. Requires the .track file; available on field sports.

Film Review Workflow

The camera operator presses a button during recording to mark a notable play. Markers are typically set 1–3 seconds after the event. Use the Marker Offset setting to automatically jump a few seconds before each marker so you see the full build-up.

Jump to any marker and the player can automatically set an A-B loop around that play — watch it repeatedly, adjust the loop boundaries, then record the clip to share with your team.

Supported File Types

  • .mp4 the main video (required)
  • .mark highlight timestamps for marker navigation (read-only, from camera)
  • .mark.fp user-added markers created in Falcon Player (goals, key plays)
  • .cover thumbnail shown in the gallery
  • .vdata video metadata (fps, resolution, sport, firmware)
  • .track camera telemetry, enables View Lock stabilization
  • .jpg session photos, shown in the gallery and on the timeline

Compatible With

  • Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari (Mac, Windows, Linux)
  • Any XbotGo Falcon model
  • Local files only — no internet connection required after opening
